The Eldritch Age - volume 1 - page 11

Hopefully, by the time you're reading this page, I'll have the first instalment of an Eldritch Age bestiary up somewhere on this site. (EDIT: That did not happen as the page got published five days before it was scheduled to by mistake) There I will describe the curious goblinoids referred to as 'gobbos'. These creatures, while culturally and intellectually inferior to humans, the creatures try to make up for it by using the biggest words they can commit to memory. Demonstrating a good vocabulary is key to achieving status within their society. While strength and power will always decide who the leaders of any gobbo tribes are, those who can put on the pretence of intelligence will enjoy comparative status amongst their peers.

Otherwise, gobbos are perceived as little more than talking rats by humans and are usually dealt with in the same manner as any vermin. On rare occasion some farmers will trade food and other goods with local gobbos in exchange for hunting down small predators that threaten livestock or other simple duties. There is always an element of risk when dealing with gobbos as they could very easily decide to take the livestock for themselves.
